Key Areas Associated With Community College Finances Essay

Abstract This paper will provide a brief overview of some of the key areas associated with community college finances. As a public institution, the community college depends upon securing financial revenue from a variety of sources (Kenton, Schuh, Huba, Shelley, 2004). Those sources include, but are not limited to: state and local appropriations, tuition generation, gifts and grants, auxiliary services, continuing education, and workforce development. Affordable tuition and adequate state funding are essential due to the increasing number of future jobs which will require some form of postsecondary education (Katsinas, D’Amico, Friedel, 2014). If community colleges are to maintain or exceed their current level of performance and accommodate student access, they need to generate alternative sources of funding (Friedel Thomas, 2013). Gifts and grants, auxiliary services, continuing education, and workforce development are all excellent examples of alternative sources of funding for co mmunity colleges. While this paper will serve to examine quite a few areas associated with community college finances, it is by no means intended to be an exhaustive list. I was asked to host the annual fest of high school, as the boy who was to host the fest fell sick on the very day. I had no formal experience or knowledge, I was given a list of the itinerary and an hour to prepare myself. I did host the show and found my confidence and courage played a major part for the success (Verbert et al. 2013). Honesty: Honesty is a virtue, the way I was brought up have deep influence on me so far. Honesty has always been the prime focus of my parents and it can be said that I find this trait to be hereditary. Innovation: I always had a creative outlook about the way a project is to be done. To do things differently and finding ways to complete a task effectively and efficiently, has always been my prime focus. If a given task is, perceived differently, keeping few factors in mind such as unarticulated needs, better solutions to meet new requirements and existing market need, then completing the task will be less laborious with extraordinary outcome. Winning the best innovative mind at my school is what I considered to be an achievement (Tilson and Simonsen 2013). Optimism: Having an optimistic outlook, has helped me in grievous situation to gather myself and come out with a solution, it had helped me to muster courage to take challenges and completing the task with flying colours. Because of optimism I like to take work an extra mile as I know, putting on extra effort never harmed anyone but can show appellant result. Resourceful: Because of resourcefulness and Public relation, I was asked to hold events for community service and high school events. This made me acquainted with different steps of organization an event (Tymon 2013). Versatility: In the current market one need to be versatile to overcome obstacle and be productive. It also helps one to thrive, gather knowledge, and be dynamic in any given situation. My familiar with both IT software as well as graphics designing software, on top of that I have done a brief course on editing software for both 2D and 3D objects and motion graphics will give me the versatility that i require in the field of IT. Ethics: favouring biasness has never been in my character along with that, having ethics is what makes a person different from other person in a good way. I remember if found a 5-dollar note on the road which was of someone else and I did not to earn that. Therefore, I gave that money to a beggar, who needed the money, the most in that way I kept my ethics clean and my conscience clearer (Jones 2013). To help myself I will join classes for HTML and C++, in order to get in depth knowledge of coding. Time management: Time management is an important trait, which helps an individual to effectively work and segregate different task based on priority. As I want to grow and acquire more knowledge in the field, time management will help me to learn and earn along with managing my personal and professional life. For this, I will arrange task based on priority and will try to complete it in given period (Carland, Carland and Carland III 2015). Some of the employment skill that needs attention: Team building: Any organization wants its employees to have leadership quality, as it will be easy for the organization to develop and harness from new set of people, required to lead the organization. Once there, data then comes upon a firewall which performs the main purpose of blocking unsecured data let ting through the desired data allowing it to reach the designated port. A nother router or switch receives the packaged data and moves it over to the band width , which performs the purpose of transferring data from one place to another . Finally , the pack ag ed data continues out to the internet or world wide web. Once it travels and reaches its destination, the data package is re - opened and the reverse process ensues. This requires a response that is sent back to the original location from where the data package was sent. The info rmation in the se packages contain information the sender was emailing to a recipient. The response is then verified after reaching security protocols, unencrypted and the email can be opened and read by the recipient. This process is used each time an email is sent and received by anyone and done over and over again .

Fall Of Judah Caught Between the Great Powers This paper will show how Judah aligned itself with Egypt, who was in a bipolar struggle for power with Babylon and how it eventually led to their destruction. Small nations caught between two larger powers struggling for supremacy find it impossible to remain in a state of neutrality. They must choose a side to align with and hope they make the right choice in order to survive the struggle. Judah's downfall began in 609 B.C. when Pharaoh Necho II led his army through Judah on his way to assist the Assyrians in battle against the Babylonians. Necho sent word all he intended to do was pass through Judah. King Josiah (640-609 B.C.) ruler of Judah decided to attack Necho's army on the plain of Megiddo. The Egyptians defeated Josiah's troops and King Josiah was killed as a result of the battle. Josiah's son Jehoahaz became King upon his father's death, he did not remain in power long and was replaced by Jehoiakim a pro-Egyptian leader. Jehoiakim was a loyal ally to the Egyptians and formed an alliance between Judah and Egypt in 609 B.C. Judah failed to realize the shift in power four years later when King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon defeated the Egyptian army in the Battle of Carchemish. Judah surrender to the Babylonians in 603 B.C., after seeing the total destruction of Ashkelon a year earlier. In 601 B.C. Judah revolted against Babylonian rule after seeing the Egyptian army defeat the Babylonian army. King Nebuchadnezzar retaliated against Judah in the winter of 586 B.C. Judah surrenders in order to save Jerusalem from destruction and to avoid the status of a conquered army. Nebuchadnezzar deported 10,000 inhabitants to Babylon, and levied heavy tribute on the people. In 594 B.C. King Zedekiah of Judah attempted to form a league against Babylon, made up of the small states that form modern Jordan, Israel and coastal Lebanon. The states were so small and weak they posed no threat to Nebuchadnezzar. In 589/8 B.C. Judah was once again left to fight the mighty Babylonians alone. Judah held out against the Babylonians for a year and a half. The fall of Jerusalem in 586 B.C. signaled the end of Judah. Judah took a gamble and sided with Egypt in a time of trouble. Judah failed to recognize that Egypt was no longer the dominant power, and did not try to align itself with Babylon.
